Role & responsibilities

  • Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper approvals, PO/GRN matching, and timely payments.
  • Reconcile vendor ledgers and statements, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage vendor advances, ageing analysis, and payment planning
  • Monitor customer ledgers, ageing, and collections, and follow up on overdue balances.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and manage credit notes, debit notes, and adjustments.
  • Prepare receivables reports for management review.
  • Prepare and file GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and annual returns (GSTR-9/9C) as applicable.
  • Reconcile GSTR-2B with the books, manage ITC claims, and resolve mismatches.
  • Handle GST audits, notices, and departmental queries.
  • Compute and deduct TDS, deposit it on time, and file quarterly returns (24Q/26Q).
  • Issue Form 16/16A and reconcile Form 26AS/AIS with the books.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable sections and manage lower-deduction certificates.
  • Perform bank, intercompany, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing, including accruals, provisions, and prepaid adjustments.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger.
  • Conduct internal audit checks on transactions, approvals, and process compliance.
  • Identify control gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with statutory, tax, and internal auditors and provide required schedules and documents.
  • Prepare MIS reports, variance analysis, and financial summaries for management.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking.
  • Support fixed asset accounting, including capitalization and depreciation.
  • Mentor and guide junior accounting staff on processes and compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) required. CA Inter, ICWA Inter, or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • 8 to 15 years of relevant experience across the full accounting cycle.
  • Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, and the Companies Act and Income Tax provisions relevant to accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with an ERP or accounting software
    Advanced Excel skills: VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIFS, reconciliation formulas, and MIS reporting.
  • Good written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate with auditors, vendors, and senior management.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and meet statutory deadlines.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing, trading, or consumer products company is preferred.
